    How it works

How it works

Choose the level of ownership the work requires.

Nearshore is not one operating model. WELLFLEX frames engagements around who directs priorities, coordinates the team, owns execution, and makes business decisions.

The three starting models

  1. 01

    Embedded Talent: customer-led day-to-day direction.

  2. 02

Dedicated Teams: coordinated capability with shared responsibilities.

  3. 03

Managed Operations: greater WELLFLEX responsibility for a bounded scope.

How it works

Three ways to structure responsibility

Use these models as a starting point. The final division of management, quality, reporting, schedules, continuity, and escalation is defined for each engagement.

Typical ownership pattern

Embedded Talent

Additional capacity works inside an existing team, with the customer typically directing daily priorities.

Customer-led day-to-day direction, with role boundaries, coordination, and continuity defined together.

Typical ownership pattern

Dedicated Teams

A coherent group is organized around a capability, with direction and team coordination shared as agreed.

Customer-led business priorities with a coordinated team model and explicitly shared delivery responsibilities.

Managed Operations

WELLFLEX assumes more operating responsibility for a bounded scope, with controls and decisions agreed in advance.

Customer-owned business decisions and constraints, with greater WELLFLEX responsibility for agreed execution and operating coordination.

The model names describe a direction of ownership, not a universal RACI or service-level commitment.

A practical planning framework

From an operating need to a workable model

The process starts by making the work and ownership visible. Detailed planning, onboarding, and operating steps are then defined for the actual engagement.

  1. 01

    Understand the need

Clarify the function, workflow, backlog, constraints, internal context, and reason additional capacity is being considered.

  2. 02

    Shape the engagement

Compare embedded, dedicated, and managed ownership against the work—not against a generic staffing label.

  3. 03

    Assess the plan

Define possible responsibilities, systems, access, schedules, controls, dependencies, and assumptions that still need validation.

  4. 04

    Align the operating setup

Agree decision rights, communication, onboarding inputs, review practices, reporting, escalation, and change control before work begins.

  5. 05

    Operate and review

Work against the agreed scope and use the engagement’s review cadence to surface progress, exceptions, and decisions.

  6. 06

    Adapt deliberately

Revisit scope, responsibilities, capacity, and the engagement model as the requirement or operating context changes.

This framework is not a promise of a fixed staffing timeline, team structure, or service level. The sequence and responsibilities depend on the requirement.

Decision criteria

Choose by operating reality—not by label

A useful model reflects the maturity of the work and the responsibility each organization is prepared to carry.

Direction

Who sets day-to-day priorities, resolves ambiguity, and makes business or technical decisions?

Coordination

Who organizes the work, manages dependencies, supports the team, and keeps progress visible?

Execution ownership

Is the need additional capacity inside your team, a coherent team capability, or a bounded operation with greater external responsibility?

Controls

What access, approvals, standards, quality review, data handling, reporting, and escalation must be agreed?

Build Your Team

Make ownership explicit before work begins.

Bring the requirement, internal operating model, and decisions you want to retain. WELLFLEX can assess which engagement model provides the clearest starting point.
