    Embedded Talent

Engagement model · Embedded Talent

Add capacity inside the way your team already works.

Embedded Talent is a starting model for organizations that already own the work and want additional capacity within their priorities, tools, and operating rhythm. The customer typically directs day-to-day work; coordination and support from WELLFLEX are defined per engagement.

This model may be relevant when

  1. 01

The work fits inside an existing function, project, backlog, or operating team.

  2. 02

Internal leaders can set priorities, review work, and make domain decisions.

  3. 03

The primary need is added capacity or expertise rather than outsourced process ownership.

When to consider it

When Embedded Talent may fit

This model is generally the clearest starting point when the customer already has managers, priorities, and delivery practices in place.

Typical ownership pattern

Customer-led day-to-day direction, with role boundaries, coordination, and continuity defined together.

  • The work fits inside an existing function, project, backlog, or operating team.

  • Internal leaders can set priorities, review work, and make domain decisions.

  • The primary need is added capacity or expertise rather than outsourced process ownership.

Operating ownership

A practical division of responsibility

This is a typical planning pattern, not a fixed RACI. Final responsibility for every activity is agreed before the engagement starts.

Illustrative examples

Example scenarios to assess

These are hypothetical planning examples, not customer stories, staffing promises, or proof of a specific capability.

Implementation capacity

An internal implementation lead wants to assess added capacity for a defined backlog while retaining priorities and acceptance decisions.

Reporting support

A data leader has established sources and definitions but needs to evaluate capacity for a recurring reporting workflow.

Operations support

An operations manager wants a contributor to work inside existing procedures, approvals, and day-to-day supervision.

Before work begins

Define the role before adding capacity

Embedded work still requires an explicit operating agreement. The assessment should clarify:

  • Responsibilities, required context, and work that remains outside the role.

  • The internal manager, priority-setting process, and decision owners.

  • Tools, access, data handling, policies, and documentation requirements.

  • Communication, work review, reporting, and escalation practices.

  • Schedule and collaboration needs without assuming a fixed overlap or coverage promise.
